Ever since I was a kid, when my father and I used to fish "on the ground", I found predator fishing to be the most fascinating thing, but I never knew how to do it at all... how to trick a meter-long fish into thinking it's a piece of plastic that you wind towards yourself real fish. How many times has a pike darted under our feet, hunting greens at the edge of the bank...

So, after 10 years of occasional fishing, a colleague took me on my first predator fishing trip, and that's when my mind went crazy. Four boxes full of wooden, plastic and metal lures, each painted differently, some went very deep, others on the surface, and the third into the treetops (not my fault). As you unfortunately cannot avoid this in predator fishing, and I left more and more baits in the Krka, which did not have a good effect on my student wallet, I decided that I would rather make my own baits.

I delved into the pure hydrodynamics of lures. My fellow fishermen gave me their legendary Rapalas, Salmotes, Ružno pače and others, and I just watched what actions they had. What makes the bait sink two meters deep, what makes the bait have a wide wobble, and what makes it narrow, is it better that this shape of the bait sinks, or is it better that it is as buoyant as possible. Of course, not every design worked for me the first time, but with a lot of experimentation, I slowly studied the subject. Every detail is very important!

So my lures got better and better, and of course I caught more and more fish, and anglers on social networks started writing to try my lures, colleagues all had my Carnivore Tackle lures in their collections. That's what I called my "brand" at first, but after a year of making lures and posting on social media, I realized that wasn't it. Speaking in English and creating content in English just didn't show the real me, because instead of saying "wow, delicious pike, it's a bait!!!", I just said "ou look pike"...

With this, my vision became clear: to create a Slovenian brand of artificial lures that will guarantee top results.. "Vabca" !, and at the same time to show other fellow fishermen how things are served on the Krka River, where I fish the most. The slogan "For big fish" naturally reflects how only the best and biggest fish - big fish - are caught with my baits.
